Katja Hutter is Professor for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Innsbruck, a Vising Fellow at the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard (LISH). Her research focuses on core topics of innovation and the question of how companies react to the change of traditional market logics through the digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI). The changing innovation landscapes – lean startup principles, innovation labs or networking in innovation ecosystems – and the transformation to AI-centric organizations are the focus of her current research projects. Her research has been published in leading academic journals and honored with rewards. Katja has taught extensively in MBA and executive programs and co-developed and chairs the new master program on Strategic Management and Innovation. She serves as a supervisory and advisory board member.
Her research has been published in leading academic journals such as Journal of Interactive Marketing, Long Range Planning, Journal of Management Information Systems or Creativity and Innovation Management and honored with rewards. Together with her co-authors she received the Tudor Rickards and Susan Moger Best Paper Award 2011 in the Journal Creativity and Innovation Management, the Best Paper Award 2015 in the Journal of Interactive Marketing and the Harvard Business School Case with the topic “Open Innovation at Siemens” was honored with the Case Centre Awards and Competitions in 2015.
