SEISMID: Nominee for the Austrian National Award for Consulting 2011

The project partner of the Unit of Applied Mechanics, VCE Holding GmbH, was nominated for the Austrian National Award for Consulting for the project SEISMID, which was supported by the ZIT - the Technology Promotion Agency of the City of Vienna. The certificate was awarded on December 1st, 2011 in the Oktogon of the Bank Austria in Vienna.

The research project SEISMID aimed at developing comprehensible methods for evaluating existing buildings in Vienna regarding their earthquake resistance.

The coordinator of the project was the company VCE Holding GmbH. In addition to the Unit of Applied Mechanics further collaborators were the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, Brusatti GmbH and Aplica Advanced Solutions GmbH. 

The Austrian National Award for Consulting-Engineering-Consulting intents to award outstanding accomplishments for consulting in the field of Engineering, which have great potential to be exported to other countries.
