 Day Nursery finchen

As part of a new collaboration with the association Frauen* im Brennpunkt, full-day childcare spots in the "Kinderkrippe Finchen" daycare center will be reserved for the children of employees starting from the upcoming childcare year in September 2025. This initiative fulfills the frequently expressed desire to offer childcare spots at other major locations in addition to the Innrain Campus.

The two-group daycare center is located in close proximity to the University’s Campus Technik, at Viktor-Franz-Hess-Straße 5/3.

Alter der Kinder

In principle, the childcare services are aimed at children aged 18 months up to kindergarten entry. Care for children from the age of 12 months can be arranged in a limited capacity in consultation with the Family Service.
The key dates are August 31 or September 1.

Öffnungszeiten

The facility is open year-round from Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including the Christmas, semester, and Easter holidays. Apart from public holidays, there are only five additional closure days.

The nursery year begins at the start of September and ends at the end of August.

Kosten

A full-day childcare spot will cost € 470 starting February 1, 2025.

Meals are not included in the childcare fee. Starting February 1, 2025 the cost of meals is €5.00 per day (morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack), subject to change.

The university provides a financial subsidy for employees under certain conditions. Detailed information can be found in the Uniwiki.

Applications for the nursery year 2026/27 will be accepted until 15th November.

For children of university employees: If the number of registrations exceeds the available capacity, a committee will determine the ranking for the following daycare year each January.

The following selection criteria are considered and weighed against each other for the allocation of spots:

• Employment extent of the applicant (generally a minimum of 20 hours per week) and, if applicable, their partner
• Single parenthood
• Desired start date of childcare
• Alternative childcare options at the place of residence
• Other relevant considerations (e.g., both parents employed at the university; registration in the previous year; siblings already enrolled; applicants who lack a local support network, such as those newly relocating to Tyrol; need to resume work)
