Studies and teaching
The idea of critical reflective professionalism is a guideline of the teaching and research area, both as a matter of course in teaching and as a fundamental attitude that students can acquire and develop. This approach to theoretical questions, methodological procedures and pedagogical practices serves to contribute to the training of a diversity-oriented pedagogical practice in the (post-)migration society. Central learning contents relate to historically and institutionally marked education processes and subjective practices of positioning. Concepts of researching learning play an important role.
In the bachelor’s degree programme, the course contents of the Migration area are offered in Modules 15, 20 and 21. Furthermore, in Module 18 corresponding seminars can be concluded with a bachelor’s thesis. Please observe the announcements in the course catalogue.
In the master’s degree programme, the course contents of the Migration area are offered in Elective Module 4. Master’s theses on migration and education can be written in the Obligatory Module 4.
More information can be found in the course catalogue and the curricula for the degree programme Pedagogical and Educational Science (bachelor’s degree and master’s degree) at the faculty for Educational Science of the University of Innsbruck.
