About

Matteo Baggio is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Turin, working on the project "Controlling and Utilizing Uncertainty in the Health Sciences." He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind from the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia, where he was awarded a thematic fellowship in the Epistemology of Logic and Mathematics. His doctoral thesis explored the epistemic role of intellectual intuitions in logical theorizing. Before his Ph.D., Matteo studied philosophy at the University of Genoa and held research positions at the University of Bergen and the Complutense University of Madrid. His research primarily explores epistemology—both classical and social—as well as the philosophy of logic. He also has a strong interest in metaphysics and the philosophy of science. During his visiting period in Innsbruck, Matteo presents and develops his work on the epistemology of AI. His project aims to reassess both the epistemic capacities of AI technologies and the extent to which expertise can be attributed to them, working closely with Federica I. Malfatti.
