Andreas Läuchli’s research is devoted to the theoretical study of strongly interacting quantum many body systems arising in condensed matter and ultracold atomic gases. Large-scale computer simulations allow to uncover and understand phenomena, which are often difficult to tackle based on analytical methods alone. Fields of current interests are exotic quantum states of matter in e.g. quantum magnets or ultracold multispecies fermions, nonequilibrium dynamics of correlated quantum systems, and the development and application of quantum information inspired tools enabling a deeper understanding of quantum many body systems.
