Project Description:
The project Planetary Cities is a research on global cities in the age of Artificial Intelligence. Its hypothesis is based on the idea that images of real cities contain lost data which can reveal new kinds of planetary cities. The research is based on datasets of nine global cities: Los Angeles, New York, Lagos, Barcelona, Vienna, Dubai, New Delhi, Beijing and Tokyo. As an input for the Generative Adversarial Networks Algorithm, planar metric images of 500m by 500m of the entire urban territory of each city were used. The presented material shows some of this new kind of planetary cities. Even when they seem to be fictional, they are still real.
