New University Course - Molecular Analysis of Trophic Interactions (MATI)
In October the two-week university course named “Molecular Analysis of Trophic Interactions” starts for the first time. Participants get theoretical information and gain practical skills in the field of molecular analysis of trophic interactions. Thanks to the great number of methods applied (e.g. robotic DNA extraction, high-resolution capillary electrophoresis, multiplex PCR or Next-Generation-Sequencing) the university course attracts young scientists from the USA, China, Chile and the European countries.
Continuing Education at Forum Alpbach
This year the university course “European Community Law” in cooperation with the European Forum Alpbach took place for the first time within the scope of the “Alpbach Summer School on European Integration”. This university course deals with the major elements of the institutional and material community law as well as its relations to international law, most importantly international economic law and national law of the member states, with the example of Austria.
Commencement Ceremony Restoring of Historic Stoves
On 9 September 2014 the certificates for the university course “Restoring of Historic Tiled Stoves” were awarded in the assembly hall of the University of Innsbruck. Over a period of three semesters master stove-fitters and ceramists as well as students of Art History and Archaeology were able to profit from their different practical and theoretical knowledge on professional restoring of historic stoves. Up to then no suitable further education was available in this area, neither for students nor practical experts, and this makes this university course unique.
