University of Warwick (United Kingdom)

The research group of Dr. Akeel Shah from the School of Engineering the University of Warwick is recognised for its outstanding scientific work in the formulation and application of mathematical models to describe electrochemical energy storage devices. The research group uses a probabilistic framework for the development of surrogate models for high-fidelity battery and fuel cell codes. Their models have been previously tested in good agreement with experimental data with other systems, such as lead-acid or vanadium flow batteries. Through a research stay of 3-4 months and integration into the research group of Dr. Shah through understanding of the models, basic assumptions and limits of application will be gained for the benefit of the current project. This cooperation will contribute to high-value and successful outcomes for the goals of the project.

University of Southampton (United Kingdom)

The research group of Prof. Dr. Ponce de León from the Energy Technology Research Group of the University of Southampton belongs to the leading groups in the field of flow cells design and performance in redox flow batteries, in particular for zinc-cerium hybrid systems. The knowledge available at the research group of Prof. Dr. Ponce de León is of significant relevance for the validation of electrode concepts developed during the project. To this purpose, a cooperation consisted of a stay of 1-2 months will be carried out at the University of Southampton. This cooperation will contribute to high-value and successful outcomes for the goals of the project.

University of Barcelona (Spain)

The research group FEMAN from the Applied Physics Department of the University of Barcelona will be in charge of the directly growth of VA-CNTs using PECVD on the embroidered structures. The research group has an extensive experience in developing carbon nanostructures using plasma technology and previous successful experiments have been performed on Cu embroidered structures.
