In the fifteenth episode of "History Exchange", Barbara Stelzl-Marx discusses her acquaintance with Günter Bischof and their collaboration on the project "Future Fund of the Republic of Austria." Professor Mag. Dr. phil. Barbara Stelzl-Marx, born on 10 April 1971 in Graz, has been teaching European contemporary history at the University of Graz since 2019. She is the director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for War Consequences Research, Vice-President of the Austrian UNESCO Commission, and a member of the advisory board of the House of History in Lower Austria. In 2019, Professor Stelzl-Marx was honoured as Scientist of the Year by the Club of Educational and Science Journalists, and in 2022, she received the Decoration for Science, Research, and Art from the federal state of Styria.
Her research focuses on the Soviet occupation of Austria, the Cold War, prisoners of war, children of war, forced labourers at the Liebenau camp during the Nazi period, and forced labourers during the Second World War.
