Grants for visiting scholars from the Americas
One of the main objectives of the Center for Inter-American Studies at the University of Innsbruck is to promote research activities related to the Americas and to strengthen collaborations with universities from different regions of these continents. The Center offers financial support in the form of grants for travel and accommodations for scholars from the Americas who visit the University of Innsbruck for conferences or guest lectures.
Funding is available for:
- Participation (e.g. presenting a paper) at conferences at the University of Innsbruck
- Guest lectures at the University of Innsbruck
- Projects in collaboration with scholars from the University of Innsbruck
Requirements:
- Affiliation with a university in the Americas
- Research projects with clear thematic connections to the Americas
- Specific research projects that require a visit to the University of Innsbruck

Guidelines:
- The approval and amount of funding depends on the respective application as well as the quality of the activity.
- Funding can be granted for travel (economy class airfare, 2nd class train travel) and accommodation expenses as well as
conference fees.
- Funding does not cover allowances for mileage or daily expenses.
- Original receipts of all expenses are required for reimbursements.
