Zwei Bilder aus dem Buch "Methods of Hand Spinning in Egypt and the Sudan" von Grace M. Crowfoot.
Links: Ägyptische Frau beim Spinnen von Flachs. Die Spinnerin zieht den Faden durch den Mund um ihn mit ihrem Speichel zu befeuchten.
Rechts: Sudanesische Kinder beim Spinnen von Baumwolle. Die Spindel wird durch Abrollen am Oberschenkel in Schwung gebracht und dreht sich danach frei in der Luft.
