Foundation of the Institute of Biochemistry as part of the Department of Chemistry within the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Innsbruck (LFU). |

Prof. Dr. Klaus Bister acts as full professor of Biochemistry and head of the institute. |

The institute becomes part of the newly founded Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy as consequence of the LFU reorganization, according to the new Austrian University Law. |
