Curtailing man-made climate change and coping with its consequences is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges in human history. There is broad scientific consensus on the causes and, in many areas, on the expected consequences of global warming. Since 1990, the status and reliability of our knowledge on climate change has been recorded and evaluated in assessment reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In the course of the Climate Agreement of Paris 2015, the IPCC was commissioned to compile the most up-to-date knowledge on climate change and to examine the differences between warming of 1.5°C and 2.0°C. This special report has been available since 8 October 2018 and we invite you to an informative seminar lecture on SR1.5 by Dean and climate expert Prof. Georg Kaser.
