Stellungnahme zum Osteuropazentrum der Universität Innsbruck
Das Russlandzentrum hat sich seit seiner Einrichtung im Jahr 2011 als ein Ort des Dialogs und der Vermittlung über Fach- und Ländergrenzen hinweg verstanden und als solches auch bewährt. Um der inhaltlichen Ausrichtung auf eine interdisziplinäre und kritische Erforschung der Kultur und Gesellschaft Ost- und Südosteuropas (selbstverständlich einschließlich Russland) auch weiterhin Rechnung tragen zu können, wird das Zentrum in Zukunft als "Osteuropazentrum" geführt, während die bisherige Zusammenarbeit der Universität Innsbruck mit der russischen Stiftung mit sofortiger Wirkung beendet wurde. Die offizielle Umbenennung und inhaltliche Anpassung erfolgt in Kürze.
In jedem Fall erscheint uns gerade jetzt eine weitere wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit Ost- und Südosteuropa, verbunden mit einem intensiven Austausch mit Kolleg:innen und wissenschaftlichen Kooperationspartner:innen, aber auch mit Künstler:innen und Vertreter:innen der Zivilgesellschaft vordringlicher denn je.
Statement on the Centre for Eastern European Studies
Since its establishment in 2011, the Russian Center has seen itself as a place of dialogue and mediation across disciplinary and national boundaries, and has proven itself as such. In order to be able to continue to take account of the content-related orientation towards interdisciplinary and critical research into the culture and society of Eastern and Southeastern Europe (including Russia, of course), the Center will in future be run as the "Centre for Eastern European Studies", while the previous cooperation of the University of Innsbruck with the Russian foundation has been terminated with immediate effect. The official renaming and content adjustment will take place shortly.
In any case, a further scientific examination of Eastern and Southeastern Europe, combined with an intensive exchange with colleagues and scientific cooperation partners, but also with artists and representatives of civil society, seems more urgent than ever.
