Funding

There are different possibilities to obtain financial support for the PhD program.

The first one is to apply for a position as research and teaching assistant at our faculty. Such positions open on a regular basis in different departments. See the career portal   of the university.

The second possibility is to apply for funding with a funding body, such as the ÖAW   or the Tiroler Wissenschaftsfonds  .

Finally, some financial support is also available from the university. For specific expenses incurred during the PhD (e.g., travel costs, costs for data collection, etc.), you can apply for funding within the “Grants for PhD activities”. For general funding of living costs, the university offers a limited number of grants (typically for one year). Application for these grants is possible only once the proposal for the PhD project (topic and supervisor) has been submitted and approved.
