Xfig (Version 3.2.4), TransFig (Version 3.2.4)
Xfig is a menu-driven tool that allows the user to draw and manipulate objects interactively under the X Window System. It runs under X version 11 release 4 or higher and requires a two- or three-button mouse. When using a two-button mouse use the <Meta> key and the right button at the same time to effect the action of the middle button.
TransFig creates a makefile to translate figures described in Fig code or PIC into a specified LATEX graphics language. PIC files are identified by the suffix ".pic"; Fig files can be specified either with or without the suffix ".fig". TransFig also creates a TeX macro file appropriate to the target language.
The TransFig package is used when printing or exporting the output from xfig. It is automatically called by xfig as a back-end processor to produce various types of output.
