Hardware of the Linux Compute Cluster
This web site provides some hardware details of the main cluster components.
Computing nodes
- Each blade enclosure consists of 16 nodes. 13 nodes are
used for high performance computing.

Each computing node is equipped with:
- 2 Intel Quad-Core L5420 CPUs (8 cores running on 2.5 GHz)
- 32 GB DDR2 RAM (4 GB per core)
- 4 x 1Gb Ethernet adapter
- 2 x 73 GB SCSI hard disk

- The storage system (Sun Fire X4540) offers a total of 48 TB
(brutto).
- 2.3 GHz Quad-Core AMD Opteron 2356
- 64 GB RAM
- 48 x 1TB 7.2k 3.5'' SATA2 disks
- 4 x 1Gb Ethernet Ports
