Research Interest

Field

Oncogenes, Transcriptional regulation, Signal transduction, Molecular carcinogenesis

Focus

Molecular mechanisms of cellular growth control and cancer development. Functional roles of oncoproteins like transcription factors or protein kinases, and of tumorsuppressors in normal cell growth and cell transformation. Thereby, research is concentrated on the oncogenic transcription factors MYC and AP-1 including structure/function of interacting proteins and of transcriptional targets. Furthermore, the role of conserved proto-oncogenes in the regulation of metazoan development is investigated.
