The speaker Univ.-Prof. Dr. Roland Wester led through the evening and emphasized that the education of young scientists is the noblest activity in university life and that the new generation of doctoral students in the programme will continue the established and best practice PhD education given at the University of Innsbruck.

With motivating and kind words from Rektor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c.mult Tilmann Märk and from Landesrat Univ.Prof. Dr. Bernhard Tilg, and with funding from FWF, the University of Innsbruck, and the province of Tyrol, the students are well equipped to do research at the forefront of science.
