Amandine discussed the balance between resilience and environmental impact, sharing how Hilti navigates recent challenges like shortages and global crises. She underscored the crucial role of IT in enhancing supply chain adaptability and environmental responsibility, focusing on the role of transparent, reliable data, planning accuracy, and closer partnerships and communication with suppliers. The talk concluded with insights into key technologies—such as cloud computing, software as a service, and real-time transportation tracking—and their contributions to resilience and sustainability by enhancing transparency and giving decision-makers more time to react to disruptions.
We thank Amandine Herbe and Simon Jutz (Head of Demand and Supply Management IT) for the engaging talk and the lively discussions with students and BAFIT members at our university.
