We could celebrate the successful defensio with David Sauerwein, the first DK-ALM student to receive a PhD in physics. David was a member of the Kraus reasearch group and worked on theoretically challenging problems from quantum information theory, and in particular on the quantification and transformations of entanglement. During his PhD studies, he visited Gilad Gour at University of Calgary in Canada and he worked in the research group of Ignacio Cirac at MPQ Garching in Germany. On his personal webpage, he explains the research in his thesis which led to many interesting publications.
