From 2 p.m. onwards, the Institute of Computer Science opened its doors at the 2nd floor of the ICT building. Over 200 students took the opportunity to get an idea of the current research in the open labs of the various working groups or to find out about the possibility of studying abroad.
At 5 p.m. departement Director Prof. Fahringer opened the evening event "Informatik Live" in the main lecture hall with a brief overview of the past year. Prof. Moser then introduced this year's keynote speaker Prof. Thomas Eiter. The head of the Institute of Logic and Computation at TU Wien spoke about the BILAI project, which aims to develop bilateral AI systems. Following the keynote speech, the winners of the best Bachelor's and Master's thesis of the 2023/24 academic year presented their work:
- Laurin Stecher received the Best Bachelor Award for his work “Parallel Implementation of Interactive Soft Body Dynamics”.
- Georg Wenzel received the Best Master Award for his thesis “Temporal Validity Change Prediction”.
The event was concluded with an excellent buffet and the STV Informatik punch stand.
